Hi, I’m Joshua Fischer. My friends call me Josh.
I make web projects successful.
My passion is in launching web projects and making them successful. I’ve found myself in leadership roles for over a decade either starting businesses, working inside companies building and launching new products, or growing small startups with other colleagues. I used to own and operate a web agency where my team helped small business and non-profits improve their presence online. I’ve gained a lot of knowledge about what works on the web and what doesn’t. I really enjoy helping others and I share the knowledge as best I can. That’s why I’ve created this blog. To share with you the insight I’ve gained while in the trenches.
My professional life
Professionally, I’m the Manager of the Web Services Group at xTuple – an open source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) company. My team is building a B2B eCommerce solution built on top Drupal that integrates with xTuple’s ERP. We call the platform xTupleCommerce. It’s awesome.
Before joining xTuple I owned a web agency called Artsmith Media. It merged with xTuple after a partnership on building xTupleCommerce (I wrote an article about the merger here). The whole Artsmith Media team merged into xTuple and became the Web Services Group. I now manage the Web Services Group, work on business strategy, marketing, and do my best to keep customers happy. We are constantly adding new features, brainstorming growth strategy, testing new markets and helping our customers grow.
I’m also a co-founder of MealGifts.com, a web based service that allows customers to purchase and send nourishing meal gifts to loved ones in the lower 48 states.
I’m currently writing a book about how to build and operate a successful web agency. I’m working to launch a podcast about bootstrapping businesses using growth hacking techniques. At xTuple I’m launching a podcast about B2B eCommerce and the future of manufacturing and distribution. I’ll be tracking progress on each of these endeavors on this blog. Will share links soon.
For years I’ve been helping customers, colleagues and even friends grow online. Whether they are growing a business, non-profit organization, startup, eCommerce shop or even their own individual platform I find that my suggestions and input is usually universal. They regularly turn to me for help getting to the next level and building more revenue online. I’ve realized that the knowledge I share is typically universal and can apply to anyone and many situations. Instead of containing this information I’ve decided to present it to anyone that will listen.
I write about web strategy, launching startups, productivity, leadership, online presence and growth hacking. My goal is to provide insightful content that you can utilize in your web projects and web businesses. If you are launching a startup, manage a business or non-profits web presence or simply want to grow your organization with web strategy, this blog is for you.
